Hip, hip, hooray! I LOVE avocado. What a perfect food it is. I'm glad that Mommy and Daddy are letting me enjoy this for a little bit, before starting me out on the next one. They say that next up is sweet potato. It sounds yummy, and I know Mommy and Daddy will do a great job cooking it for me. I think I might want to try squash after that (grams says that acorn squash is best, so we'll go with that), and then probably bananas.
Mommy and me are going to a baby food making class next week. That should be a lot of fun, where I'll get to see other babies and Mommy can learn lots of fun recipes to make me.
Happy me!

Eh, I'll wait for the movie...
Good news -- We found the cord connecting the video camera to the computer (it's been AWOL for a couple of days), so we can start uploading videos again. First up is this gem of Riley's first time with "real food." It's a longer one than usual, but we don't think you'll mind.

Yet Another First... Sigh
Sometimes it feels like the "firsts" are happening a little too fast. This week included a pretty big first with the introduction of solid foods. Specifically, Riley's been having a dollop of avocado the size of a large ice cube (an equivalent amount to one small jar of packaged baby food) once a day for the past few days. While Laura's experiencing some sadness that she's no longer the sole provider of nourishment, Riley seems to love every minute. Below are some of the best pictures from our first stabs at it. We'll have a vido up for you in the near future (as soon as we find that dang cord to transfer the files over to the computer! :-) )

Look Ma! No Hands!
So, I just had to post these videos! We bought Riley this thing called a 'Bumbo' chair, and it's especially designed to help little ones learn how to sit. As you will be able to tell from my high-pitched voice, I'm so excited because she did so well. The first 2 videos (sorry about the sideways aspect) were taken yesterday, and the third was taken today.
