Dancing Queen
We really have no idea where she gets all her dance moves -- I swear she's got something new for us every time we turn some music on. The jostling mid-video is when Riley insisted that Mommy (holding the camera) started dancing as well.

The Count
We knew that Riley knew how to count up to 3 - she had demonstrated that to us on several occasions. But we were floored when she started counting something last week (raisins, I think) and counted all the way up to 10! We've been trying to capture it on video for an entire week, and finally our determination paid off.
What's interesting is that we haven't spent that much time with her working on numbers. I mean, we've read stories about counting and maybe they do stuff in daycare. But I'd say the majority of our time has been working with her on letters and colors. Who knows - maybe math really does run in the family?
You'll have to really listen to hear Riley in this video - she starts off speaking very softly, but gets a little louder as the video goes on.

Dizziness, Tickles, and a Panda
This first one has Riley wearing her new silk pajamas that Daddy got from Chinatown on his trip to San Francisco. They're a little big and I didn't get the best shot of them, but I think there's enough there to appreciate how cute they are.
(GAH, BLOGGER'S BEING A PAIN. VIDEO IN NEXT POST)
As she's grown in confidence with various motion skills, she gets in these spurts where for several minutes straight she won't want to stop moving. (I suppose this is just "being hyper"). Here she is jumping and spinning (and occasionally falling or stumbling hilariously). In the last video, we have the only way to get her to stay still for a second (it's exhausting to watch!) -- I love how she keeps asking for more.

Singing, Dancing and Spinning
Oops, been a while. Three videos today, more soon:
First up is Riley's new favorite pastime, watching a YouTube video featuring Elmo and India Arie singing the alphabet. She's learned how to start the video after it's finished, and at particularly focused moments, can watch it upwards of 10-15 times in a row. She's getting quite good at her letters these days...she'll sing along from A through E, and pipe in with the occasional H, K, P, S, T, and Z later on.

She's recently rediscovered the Lazy Susan hidden in one of the kitchen cupboards which holds all the tupperware. This first video was her first attempt, with Laura helping her out occasionally. By her subsequent attempts, she wanted no such aid, insisting on closing herself in all by herself.

My little fashionista
Here's a video right before dinner tonight, which if you couldn't tell, was soup. I absolutely just loved the outfit that Riley had on, and even more so, how she made sure her hat was still on after she got up on her tower.
To summarize, Riley had on her pink hat (which she just absolutely had to have on); a bib with a dog on it (currently her favorite to walk around all day with it on); her nursing necklace which she was wearing Rambo style; and 1 of my slippers (and no, she did *not* want my other slipper, thank you very much).

How cute was her "I love you" at the end? :)

Misc. Vids
Nothing much connecting these two videos, just two recent ones we liked but haven't shared yet.
Riley's gotten much happier about brushing her teeth with a toothbrush -- which is great, since the nightly ritual of using the tooth wipes was getting old pretty fast. We now use her motorized Winnie the Pooh toothbrush, which she frequently likes enough to ask "more" for even after we're done. Here's one of the first attempts:

And she continues to want to do more and more chores around the house -- if only the trend would last into those pesky teenage years. Here she is working the laundry mines.
